Founded in 1998 by “Catfish Jenkins”
frontman Wes Yoakam, Big Atomic quickly gained momentum performing
in front of thousands at Atlanta’s Music Midtown, 99X’s
Big Day Out, and the Atlantis Music Festival, as well as high
profile performances at the Cotton Club, the 40 Watt Club, and
the Georgia Theatre.
After relocating to Atlanta, Wes added the talents of local
session players Marcus Petruska, and Todd Weaver to the group,
and they have continued to rock clubs in Atlanta.
The group has established a private 32-track studio and are
finishing a new album entitled “Wrestling the Dragon and
the Rat”. Due in late Janary 2004, the album contains
the best of the songs the band has been performing live for
the last 2 years and will includecrowd favorites “Down”,
“The Dragon and the Rat”, and “Had to Let
you Go”.
